The forefoot is more flexible thanks to a smaller Air Zoom unit positioned where your foot feels the most impact. This still gives you responsive cushioning at the highest push-off point of the forefoot, while allowing more flex through the front of the shoe. The outsole uses a lighter rubber compound that helps you decelerate, plant and recover without feeling like your cuts are being rounded off.
Nike kept the midsole foam and outsole pattern from the Vapor 2, while improving the secure feel around the midfoot and heel for sharper cuts. A deeper flex notch in the supportive forefoot piece improves flexibility, and the full midfoot fit band helps you tighten the laces for enhanced fit and faster movement.
